

KHASAB: Musandam Governor's Office organised on Sunday a workshop for the final review of the governorate's strategic risk document. This comes within the framework of efforts aimed at enhancing institutional readiness and consolidating the risk management methodology, in preparation for approving the document in its final form to support the efficiency of decision-making and elevate the capacity to handle future challenges and risks.
Khadija bint Ali al Harfi, Head of the Risk Management Department at the Musandam Governor's Office, stated that the workshop represents a fundamental stage preceding the approval of the final document. She noted that it contributes to enhancing the governorate's readiness and raising its capacity to confront potential risks and challenges according to a scientific and organised methodology.
She pointed out that the document is considered a strategic tool for managing changing and complex risks, especially in light of the vital geographical location enjoyed by the Musandam Governorate and the associated environmental, security and economic variables.
The workshop reviewed the strategic importance of the Musandam Governorate, as it is one of the governorates with a unique geographical location overlooking the Strait of Hormuz, which is considered one of the most prominent global maritime corridors. This review highlighted the significance of this location in international trade movement, maritime security and geopolitical balances. — ONA
